عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ قَرَأَ كِتَابَ عُثْمَانَ - أَوْ قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ -
أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ كَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ: " أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ يَكُونُ فِي جَشْرَةٍ، أَوْ فِي تِجَارَةٍ، أَوْ يَكُونُ جَابِيًا فَيَقْصُرُ الصَّلَاةَ، إِنَّمَا يَقْصُرُ الصَّلَاةَ مَنْ كَانَ شَاخِصًا أَوْ بِحَضْرَةِ عَدُوٍّ
Translation
✧ Uthman wrote to the people of Basra: "To proceed: It has reached me that some of you are in a pasture or engaged in trade or are a tax collector and shorten the prayer. Only the one who is traveling or in the presence of the enemy shortens the prayer."
