✧ Prayer while traveling

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ،
أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ أَوَّلَ مَا فُرِضَتْ فُرِضَتْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَتَمَّ اللهُ الصَّلَاةَ فِي الْحَضَرِ وَأُقِرَّتِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ عَلَى هَيْئَتِهِمَا فِي السَّفَرِ ". قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِعُرْوَةَ: فَمَا كَانَ يَحْمِلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي السَّفَرِ وَقَدْ عَلِمَتْ أَنَّهَا فَرَضَهَا اللهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ؟ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: " تَأَوَّلَتْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَا تَأَوَّلَ عُثْمَانُ مِنْ إِتْمَامِ الصَّلَاةِ بِمِنًى
Translation
✧ The prayer, when it was first prescribed, was prescribed as two rakʿahs; then Allah completed the prayer for the resident, and the two rakʿahs were retained in their original form for travel." He said: I said to ʿUrwah: "What led ʿĀʾishah to pray four rakʿahs while traveling, when she knew that Allah had prescribed it as two?" ʿUrwah said: "She interpreted it as ʿUthmān interpreted the completion of the prayer at Minā."
