✧ The prayer of fear

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي جَهْمٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ بِذِي قَرَدٍ، فَصَفَّ صَفًّا خَلْفَهُ وَصَفًّا مُوَازِيَ الْعَدُوِّ "، وَقَالَ: " فَصَلَّى بِالصَّفِ الَّذِي مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلَاءِ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا، فَكَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَكْعَتَانِ، وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ رَكْعَةٌ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed the prayer of fear at Dhū Qarad. He formed a row behind him and a row facing the enemy. He said: “He prayed one rak‘ah with the row that was with him. Then those went to the positions of those, and he prayed one rak‘ah with them. Then he said the salām to them all, and they departed. Thus the Prophet ﷺ had two rak‘ahs, and each of the two groups had one rak‘ah.”
