✧ The prayer of fear

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:
تَتَقَدَّمُ طَائِفَةٌ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ، وَطَائِفَةٌ بِإِزَاءِ الْعَدُوِّ، فَيُصَلِّي بِهِمُ الْإِمَامُ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ تَذْهَبُ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّذِينَ صَلَّوْا مَعَ الْإِمَامِ فَيَقُومُونَ مَوْقِفَ أَصْحَابِهِمْ، وَيَجِيءُ أُولَئِكَ فَيَدْخُلُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْإِمَامِ، فَيُصَلِّي بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ الْإِمَامُ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُونَ فَيُصَلُّونَ رَكْعَةً مَكَانَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَنْطَلِقُونَ فَيَقُومُونَ مَكَانَ أَصْحَابِهِمْ، وَيَجِيءُ أُولَئِكَ فَيُصَلُّونَ رَكْعَةً
Translation
✧ One group advances with the imam, while another group faces the enemy. The imam leads them in one rak‘ah with two prostrations. Then the group that prayed with the imam departs and takes the position of their companions, and those others come and join the imam’s prayer. He leads them in one rak‘ah, then the imam says the salām. Then they stand and pray one rak‘ah in their place. Then they leave and take the position of their companions, and those others come and pray one rak‘ah.
