أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَ:
سَأَلَهَا رَجُلٌ: هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا قَرَأَ ؟ قَالَتْ: " رُبَّمَا رَفَعَ وَرُبَّمَا خَفَضَ قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الدِّينِ سَعَةً قَالَ: فَهَلْ كَانَ يُوتِرُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ ؟ قَالَتْ: " نَعَمْ، رُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَرُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ مِنْ آخِرِهِ " قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الدِّينِ سَعَةً قَالَ: فَهَلْ كَانَ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ؟ قَالَتْ: " رُبَّمَا اغْتَسَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَرُبَّمَا نَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يَتَوَضَّأُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ " قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الدِّينِ سَعَةً
Translation
✧ A man asked her: Did the Messenger of God ﷺ raise his voice at night when he recited? She said: “Sometimes he raised it and sometimes he lowered it.” He said: Praise be to God who has made the religion spacious. He said: Did he perform witr in the first part of the night? She said: “Yes, sometimes he performed witr in the first part of the night and sometimes in its last part.” He said: Praise be to God who has made the religion spacious. He said: Did he sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity? She said: “Sometimes he bathed before sleeping and sometimes he slept before bathing, but he performed ablution before sleeping.” He said: Praise be to God who has made the religion spacious.
