عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ الضُّبَعِيِّ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ فِي كَلَامِي وَقِرَاءَتِي عَجَلَةٌ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " لَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْبَقَرَةَ فَأُرَتِّلَهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَهُذَّ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ
Translation
✧ I said to Ibn Abbas: I am a man who is hasty in my speech and recitation. Ibn Abbas said: For me to recite al-Baqarah and recite it slowly is dearer to me than to rattle off the whole Qur'an.
