machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, from ʿAṭāʾ, who said:
✧ It is more beloved to me, when the imam is ill, that he appoint someone to lead the people in prayer if he is unable to pray except sitting." He said: "And if the imam prays sitting, that is the sunnah." I said: "If he prays sitting, should I pray with him or leave him?" He said: "Rather pray with him. Would you turn away from the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ?" He said: "And it is more beloved to me that they put forward someone else from among them."
