✧ When the prayer has been established, there is no prayer except the obligatory one

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ وَأَنَا مُتَطَوِّعٌ، فَأُتِمُّ ؟ قَالَ: " فَصِلْهَا بِهَا، قُلْتُ: إِنِّي لَمْ أُسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيمَ الِانْصِرَافِ قَالَ: " أَلَيْسَ قَدْ تَشَهَّدْتَ ؟ " قُلْتُ: بَلَى. قَالَ: " فَحَسْبُكَ، فَصِلْهَا بِهَا
Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: “The imam has come out while I am praying a voluntary prayer—should I complete it?” He said: “Join it with it.” I said: “I have not yet said the salām of departure.” He said: “Have you not already recited the tashahhud?” I said: “Yes.” He said: “That is enough for you—join it with it.”
