عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي الْأَزْرَقُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ: يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ:
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَهَا، فَأَخَذَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِرِدَائِهِ - أَوْ بِثَوْبِهِ - وَقَالَ: اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ قَبْلَكُمْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِصَلَاتِهِمْ فَصْلٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " صَدَقَ ابْنُ الْخَطَّابِ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed Asr, and a man stood up to pray after it. Umar b. al-Khattab grabbed his cloak—or his garment—and said: "Sit down, for the People of the Book before you were destroyed because there was no break between their prayers." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Ibn al-Khattab has spoken the truth."
