✧ The time when prayer is disliked

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ الَّتِي فُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ - يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ - فَضَيَّعُوهَا، فَمَنْ حَفِظَهَا الْيَوْمَ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يُرَى الشَّاهِدُ، وَالشَّاهِدُ النَّجْمُ

Translation

✧ Indeed this prayer that was prescribed upon those before you — meaning al-ʿAṣr — they neglected it. So whoever guards it today, for him is its reward twice, and there is no prayer after it until the witness is seen, and the witness is the star.
