✧ A man prays in his house then catches the congregation

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُهَا مَعَ النَّاسِ، فَإِنِّي أَجْعَلُ الَّذِي صَلَّيْتُ فِي بَيْتِي نَافِلَةً، وَأَجْعَلُ صَلَاتِي مَعَ الْإِمَامِ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ، قُلْتُ: أَفَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّكَ لَمْ تُدْرِكْ إِلَّا رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً ؟ قَالَ: " وَكَذَلِكَ أَيْضًا
Translation
✧ When I pray the obligatory prayer and then catch it with the people, I make the one I prayed in my house a supererogatory prayer and make my prayer with the imam the obligatory one. I said: "What if you only caught one rak'a?" He said: "The same also."
