عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ:
كَانُوا يَكْرَهُونَ أَنْ يَؤُمَّهُمْ، وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمُصْحَفِ، فَيَتَشَبَّهُونَ بِأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ
Translation

✧ They used to dislike that an imam leads them while reading from the mushaf, for they would be imitating the People of the Book.
