عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، عَنْ هُزَيْلِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ قَالَ:
جَاءَنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ إِلَى مَسْجِدِنَا، فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: تَقَدَّمْ، فَقَالَ: " لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ إِمَامُكُمْ، قِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ الْإِمَامَ لَيْسَ هَاهُنَا قَالَ: " فَلْيَتَقَدَّمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْكُمْ "، فَتَقَدَّمَ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَقُومَ عَلَى شِبْهِ دُكَّانٍ، فَنَهَاهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ
Translation
✧ Ibn Mas'ud came to us at our mosque, and the prayer was commenced. It was said to him, 'Come forward,' so he said, 'Let your imam lead you.' It was said to him, 'The imam is not here.' He said, 'Then let a man from among you come forward.' So he came forward, and he wanted to stand on something like a bench, but 'Abdullah forbade him.
