عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ:
كَانَتِ الْعَرَبُ تَقُولُ: انْظُرُوا هَذَا مَا يَصْنَعُ وَقَوْمُهُ ؟ يَعْنُونَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا افْتَتَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَكَّةَ، جَاءَهُ وُفُودُ النَّاسِ، فَكَانَ غُلَامٌ مِنْ جَرْمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ سَلِمَةَ، كُلَّمَا مَرَّ بِهِ أَحَدٌ مِمَّنْ وَفَدَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَعَلَّمَ مِنْهُ الْقُرْآنَ " قَالَ: وَكَانَ أَكْثَرَ قَوْمِهِ قُرْآنًا، فَكَانَ يَؤُمُّهُمْ وَهُوَ صَبِيٌّ لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ، وَكَانَ عَلَيْهِ خَلَقُ إِزَارٍ، فَتَقُولُ عَجُوزٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ: أَلَا تَكْسُونَ إِمَامَكُمْ ؟ قَالَ: فَاشْتَرَوْا لِي إِزَارًا بِثَلَاثَةِ دَرَاهِمَ قَالَ: فَفَرِحْتُ بِهِ فَرَحًا شَدِيدًا
Translation
✧ The Arabs used to say: Look at this one and what he will do and his people—meaning the Prophet ﷺ. When the Prophet ﷺ conquered Makkah, delegations of people came to him. There was a boy from Jarm called Amr b. Salimah. Whenever anyone of those who had come as a delegate to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by him, he would learn Quran from him. He said: He had more Quran than the rest of his people, so he used to lead them in prayer while he was a young boy who had not had a wet dream. He had a worn-out waist-wrapper, and an old woman of the tribe would say: Will you not clothe your imam? He said: They bought a waist-wrapper for me for three dirhams. He said: I rejoiced at it greatly.
