✧ The rulers who delay the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
أَخَّرَ الْوَلِيدُ مَرَّةً الْجُمُعَةَ حَتَّى أَمْسَى قَالَ: فَصَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ الْعَصْرَ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ قَالَ: أَضَعُ يَدَيَّ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيَّ وَأُومِئُ بِرَأْسِي
Translation
✧ Al-Walid once delayed the Friday prayer until evening. He said: So I prayed Zuhr before I sat down, then I prayed 'Asr while I was sitting and he was delivering the khutbah. He said: I placed my hands on my knees and gestured with my head.
