✧ The man who prays a prayer without completing it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ حُذَيْفَةَ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ كِنْدَةَ صَلَّى صَلَاةً جَعَلَ يَنْقُرُ فِيهَا، وَلَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ: مُنْذُ كَمْ صَلَّيْتَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ " قَالَ: مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ: " مَا صَلَّيْتَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، وَلَوْ مُتَّ لَمُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْفِطْرَةِ الَّتِي فُطِرَ عَلَيْهَا مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ يُخَفِّفُ، ثُمَّ يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ وَسُجُودَهُ
Translation
✧ We were with Hudhayfah, and a man came to him from the gates of Kindah. He prayed a prayer in which he pecked and did not complete his bowing. Hudhayfah said to him: “Since when have you been praying this prayer?” He said: For forty years. He said: “You have not prayed for forty years, and if you were to die, you would die upon other than the natural disposition upon which Muhammad ﷺ was created.” Then Hudhayfah said: “A man may shorten, then he completes his bowing and prostration.”
