✧ The imam's shortening of the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مُوسَى الْجُهَنِيِّ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ أَبِي يُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، وَيُخَفِّفُ عِنْدَ النَّاسِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَتَاهُ، لِمَ تَفْعَلُ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّا أَئِمَّةٌ يُقْتَدَى بِنَا
Translation
✧ My father used to lengthen the prayer in his house, and shorten it when with people. I said: O my father, why do you do this? He said: “Indeed, we are imams who are followed.”
