عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ: حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ - شَكَّ مَعْمَرٌ - عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ النَّاسُ يَرُدُّ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ السَّلَامَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، حَتَّى سَلَّمَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَعَدَ حَزِينًا يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ قَدْ نَزَلَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَلَاتَهُ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لَشُغْلًا، أَوْ كَفَى بِالصَّلَاةِ شُغْلًا قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ التَّحِيَّاتِ " يَعْنِي التَّشَهُّدَ
Translation
✧ People used to return greetings to one another during prayer, until Ibn Mas'ud greeted the Prophet ﷺ and he did not return it. He sat down sad, imagining that something had been revealed concerning him. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, Ibn Mas'ud mentioned that to him, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'In prayer there is occupation,' or 'prayer is enough of an occupation.' He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Shall I not teach you the greetings?' meaning the tashahhud.
