عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ لِي عَوْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ: عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ، عَمَّنْ يُرْضَى بِهِ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا رَجَعَتْ مُهَاجِرَةُ الْحَبَشِ نَزَعَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَكَانَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَرُدُّ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: قَدْ كُنْتَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ تَرُدُّ وَأَنْتَ بِمَكَّةَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ: إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شُغْلًا
Translation
✧ When the emigrants to Abyssinia returned, the Prophet ﷺ gave that up. He would be greeted during prayer but would not respond. It was said to him: 'O Prophet of Allah, you used to respond while you were in Makkah during prayer.' He said: 'In prayer there is occupation.'
