عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ:
عَطَسَ رَجُلٌ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ: رَحِمَكَ اللهُ، قَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ الْقَوْمُ فَقُلْتُ: وَاثَكْلَاهُ، مَا بَالُهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيَّ، فَضَرَبُوا بِأَكُفِّهِمْ عَلَى أَفْخَاذِهِمْ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَلَاتَهُ دَعَانِي، فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي، مَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَلِّمًا قَطُّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ، وَاللهِ، فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ مَا كَهَرَنِي وَلَا شَتَمَنِي، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ لَا يَصْلُحُ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ كَلَامِ النَّاسِ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ تَسْبِيحٌ، وَتَكْبِيرٌ، وَتَهْلِيلٌ، وَقِرَاءَةُ الْقُرْآنِ "، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ
Translation
✧ A man sneezed during the prayer, and a Bedouin next to him said to him: “May Allah have mercy on you.” The Bedouin said: “The people looked at me, so I said: ‘Woe to me! What is wrong with them looking at me?!’ They struck their thighs with their hands. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he called me. The Bedouin said: ‘By my father and mother, I have never seen a teacher better than him. By Allah, he did not rebuke me nor insult me.’ He said: ‘Indeed, prayer is not suitable for any of the speech of people. It is only glorification (tasbīḥ), magnification (takbīr), declaration of oneness (tahlīl), and recitation of the Qur’an,’ or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.”
