عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ أُذَاكِرُهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قُلْنَا: بَلَى قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ شَهَادَةَ اللهِ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى شَكٍّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فِي النُّقْصَانِ فَلْيُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَكُونَ عَلَى شَكٍّ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ
Translation
✧ I was with 'Umar reminding him of the prayer, when 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf entered upon us and said: Shall I not relate to you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? We said: Yes. He said: I bear witness with the testimony of Allah that I heard him say: When one of you is in doubt about the prayer regarding deficiency, let him pray until he is in doubt regarding addition.
