✧ A man finding the people sitting

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ: رَجُلٌ جَاءَ وَقَدْ رَكَعَ الْإِمَامُ آخِرَ رَكْعَةٍ مِنَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ، فَسَجَدَ مَعَهُ سَجْدَتَيْنِ، وَتَشَهَّدَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ، فَسَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ، أَلَا يَتَكَلَّمُ الرَّجُلُ إِنْ شَاءَ حِينَئِذٍ وَيَذْهَبُ إِلَى مُصَلًّى آخَرَ ؟ قَالَ: " بَلَى، قَدْ فَاتَتْهُ الرَّكْعَةُ فَلْيَتَكَلَّمْ إِنْ شَاءَ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ".
Translation
✧ I said: A man came when the imam had already bowed in the last rak'ah of the obligatory prayer, so he prostrated with him two prostrations and did the tashahhud with the imam, then the imam said the salam. May the man then speak if he wishes and go to another place of prayer? He said: "Yes indeed, the rak'ah has passed him by, so he may speak if he wishes, for he is not in prayer."
