✧ Raising the hands in supplication

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ بْنِ يُونُسَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ يَدْعُو حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَسْأَمُ لَهُ مِمَّا يَرْفَعُهُمَا: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِشَتْمِ رَجُلٍ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ آذَيْتُهُ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ would raise his hands supplicating until I would tire for him from how much he raised them: 'O God, I am only a human, so do not punish me for insulting a man whom I insulted or harmed.'
