✧ Raising the hands in supplication

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ كَانُوا أَسْلَمُوا، وَكَانْتِ الْأَحْزَابُ خَرَّبَتْ بِلَادَهُمْ، فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو لَهُمْ بَاسِطًا يَدَيْهِ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ: امْدُدْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ: فَمَدَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ، وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُمَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ passed by a group of Bedouins who had accepted Islam, and the confederates had destroyed their lands. The Messenger of God ﷺ raised his hands supplicating for them, spreading his hands in front of his face. A Bedouin said to him: 'Stretch out, O Messenger of God, may my father and mother be your ransom.' He said: So the Messenger of God ﷺ stretched out his hands in front of his face and did not raise them toward the sky.
