✧ Raising the hands in supplication

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ:
الِابْتِهَالُ هَكَذَا - وَبَسَطَ يَدَيْهِ وَظُهُورُهُمَا إِلَى وَجْهِهِ - وَالدُّعَاءُ هَكَذَا - وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى لِحْيَتِهِ - وَالْإِخْلَاصُ هَكَذَا "، يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ
Translation
✧ Supplication with earnest entreaty is like this—and he spread his hands with their backs toward his face—and supplication is like this—and he raised his hands up to his beard—and sincerity is like this,' pointing with his finger.
