✧ Prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ
وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ: " اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِمْ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَالَ: آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ: مَنْ أَطَاعَهُ.
Translation
✧ A man asked him about the saying: O God, bestow prayer upon Muḥammad and upon the family of Muḥammad. He said: "They differed about them. Some of them said: The family of Muḥammad are his household. Others said: Those who obey him."
