عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
إِذَا فَاتَتْكَ رَكْعَةٌ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ فَجَلَسَ، فَتَشَهَّدَ فِي شَفْعٍ وَأَنْتَ فِي وِتْرٍ، فَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ الْإِمَامُ فَأَوْفِ مِمَّا بَقِيَ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ، ثُمَّ اسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ " قُلْتُ: فَلِمَ أَسْجُدُهُمَا ؟ قَالَ: " مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ لَا يُجْلَسُ فِي وِتْرٍ وَلَا يُتَشَهَّدُ فِيهِ، وَمِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ فِي وِتْرٍ "، قُلْتُ: يَنْزِلُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ السَّهْوِ وَالْخَطَأِ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ ".
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, from ʿAṭāʾ, who said:
✧ If you miss a rak'ah with the imam and he sits, reciting the tashahhud in a shaf' while you are in a witr, then when the imam finishes, complete what remains of your prayer, then prostrate the two prostrations of forgetfulness. I said: 'Why should I prostrate them?' He said: 'Because one does not sit in a witr nor recite the tashahhud in it, and because he sat in a witr.' I said: 'Is that treated like forgetfulness and error?' He said: 'Yes.'
