✧ A Man Who Has Witr While the Imam Is Praying Shaf' — Does He Recite the Tashahhud

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: "
مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مَعَ الْإِمَامِ أَوْ فَاتَهُ رَكْعَةٌ فَلَا يَتَشَهَّدْ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ، وَلْيُهْلِلْ حَتَّى يَقُومَ " فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلثَّوْرِيِّ فَقَالَ: فِي كُلِّ جُلُوسٍ تَشَهُّدٌ
Translation
✧ Whoever catches a rak'ah with the imam, or misses a rak'ah, should not perform the tashahhud with the imam; rather, he should say tahlil until he stands." This was mentioned to al-Thawri, and he said: "In every sitting there is a tashahhud."
