✧ Squatting (Iq'a) in the Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ وَابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ:
صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَإِنِّي أُقَلِّبُ الْحَصَى فِي الصَّلَاةِ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ تَقْلِيبَ الْحَصَى فِي الصَّلَاةِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ، وَلَكِنْ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَضَعَ كَفَّهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُسْرَى، وَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُمْنَى، وَقَبَضَ أَصَابِعَهُ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ
Translation
✧ I prayed beside Ibn Umar, and I was fidgeting with the pebbles during the prayer. When he finished, he said: "Fidgeting with pebbles during the prayer is from the Shaytan, but do as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do: when he sat in the prayer, he placed his left palm on his left thigh and his right palm on his right thigh, clenched his fingers, and pointed with the finger next to the thumb."
