عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ:
مَا كَانُوا يَقْرَءُونَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ حَتَّى كَانَ ابْنُ زِيَادٍ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ: " إِذَا لَمْ يَجْهَرْ لَمْ يَقْرَأْ فِي نَفْسِهِ، فَقَرَأَ النَّاسُ
Translation
✧ They did not recite behind the imam until Ibn Ziyad's time. Then it was said to them, "If he does not recite aloud, he does not recite silently to himself," so the people recited.
