✧ Recitation behind the imam

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
وَدِدْتُ أَنَّ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ إِذَا جَهَرَ عَضَّ عَلَى جَمْرٍ
Translation
✧ I wish that the one who recites behind the imam, when he recites aloud, would bite down on a live coal.
