✧ No prayer except with recitation

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَؤُمُّنَا فَيَجْهَرُ وَيُخَافِتُ، فَنَجْهَرُ فِيمَا جَهَرَ، وَنُخَافِتُ فِيمَا خَافَتَ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِقِرَاءَةٍ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and he would recite aloud and quietly, so we would recite aloud in what he recited aloud, and quietly in what he recited quietly. I heard him say: There is no prayer except with recitation.
