عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ:
صَلَّى بِنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ بِسُورَةِ الْأَنْفَالِ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ: ﴿نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ ﴾رَكَعَ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بِسُورَةٍ مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ
Translation
✧ Ibn Mas'ud led us in the latter night prayer, and he began with Surat al-Anfal until, when he reached, “What an excellent protector and what an excellent helper” (8:40), he bowed. Then in the second rak'ah he recited a surah from the mufassal.
