عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ يَقُولُ:
قَرَأْتُ: بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ، فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي: إِيَّاكَ وَالْحَدَثَ يَا بُنَيَّ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ فَكَانُوا يَقْرَأُونَ: ﴿الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴾
Translation
✧ I recited 'Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim,' and my father said to me: 'Beware of introducing something new, O my son, for I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, 'Umar, and 'Uthman, and they used to recite 'Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil-'alamin.'
