✧ When He Wipes Dust from His Face

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ
يُقَالُ: " إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ لَا تَمْسَحَ بِوَجْهِكَ مِنَ التُّرَابِ حَتَّى تَفْرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ فَافْعَلْ، وَإِنْ مَسَحْتَ فَلَا حَرَجَ، وَأَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ لَا تَمْسَحَ حَتَّى تَفْرَغَ "، قَالَ عَطَاءٌ: " وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَصْنَعُ رُبَّمَا مَسَحْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَفْرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي، وَرُبَّمَا لَمْ أَمْسَحْ حَتَّى أَفْرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي ".
Translation
✧ It is said: 'If you can avoid wiping your face from the dust until you finish your prayer, do so; and if you wipe, there is no harm. I prefer that you do not wipe until you finish.' Ata' said: 'I do all of that. Sometimes I wipe before finishing my prayer, and sometimes I do not wipe until I finish my prayer.'
