✧ What Invalidates the Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

أَرَادَ رَجُلٌ أَنْ يُجِيزَ، أَمَامَ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ، فَقَالَ لِلرَّجُلِ: " مَا يَضُرُّكَ لَوِ ارْتَدَدْتَ حِينَ رَدَّكَ ؟ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى حُمَيْدٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: " مَا ضَرَّكَ لَوْ أَجَازَ أَمَامَكَ ؟ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ لَا يَقْطَعُهَا شَيْءٌ إِلَّا الْكَلَامُ وَالْإِحْدَاثُ

Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:

✧ A man wanted to pass in front of Humayd b. Abd al-Rahman b. Awf, so he took him to Uthman. Uthman said to the man: “What harm would it have done you to turn back when he stopped you?” Then he turned to Humayd and said: “What harm would it have done you if he passed in front of you? Indeed, nothing invalidates the prayer except speech and ritual impurity.”
