عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:
إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ إِنْسَانًا مُنْكَشِفًا مَكْشُوفًا عَلَى الْحَوْضِ يَغْرِفُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ، قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ، إِنَّ الدِّينَ سَمْحٌ، قَدْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: اسْمَحُوا يُسْمَحْ لَكُمْ، وَقَدْ كَانَ مَنْ مَضَى لَا يُفَتِّشُونَ عَنْ هَذَا، وَلَا يُلْحِفُونَ فِيهِ
Translation
✧ I saw a person uncovered, exposed over the basin, scooping water with his hand over his private part. He said: Perform ablution, for there is nothing against you. Religion is accommodating. The Prophet ﷺ used to say: Be accommodating and it will be accommodated to you. Those who came before did not scrutinize this or press hard about it.
