Translation
✧ I asked 'Ata' about the ablution basin at the gate of the mosque, and he said: There is no harm in it. It existed in the time of Ibn 'Abbas, and he was the one who set it up, knowing that men and women, black and red, would perform ablution from it. He saw no harm in it, and if there had been harm, he would have forbidden it. He said: Would you perform ablution from it? I said: Yes.
