✧ The Time of the Morning Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنًا لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ:
كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يُغَلِّسُ بِالصُّبْحِ كَمَا يُغَلِّسُ بِهَا ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، وَيُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ تَغْرُبُ الشَّمْسُ وَيَقُولُ: وَاللهِ إِنَّهُ لَكَمَا قَالَ اللهُ: ﴿إِلَى غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا ﴾
Translation
✧ 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud used to pray the morning prayer in the dark as Ibn al-Zubayr did, and he would pray the sunset prayer when the sun set, and he would say: 'By Allah, it is as Allah said: "to the darkness of the night and the Quran at dawn; indeed, the Quran at dawn is ever witnessed" (Quran 17:78-79).'
