✧ Sleeping Before It and Staying Awake After It

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ الْفَزَارِيِّ قَالَ:
رَأَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَوْمًا سَمَرُوا بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فَفَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالدِّرَّةِ، فَقَالَ: أَسَمَرًا مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ، وَنَوْمًا مِنْ آخِرِهِ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab saw people who stayed up talking after the late evening prayer, so he dispersed them with a whip and said: Night talk from its beginning and sleep at its end?
