قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ مَاحَانَ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ الثَّوْرِيَّ وَمَعْمَرًا حِينَ الْتَقَيَا احْتَضَنَا وَقَبَّلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ ".
