عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، يَسْأَلُ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ: مَسَّى الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ بِصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ، فَدَخَلَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ:
يَا مُغِيرَةُ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ لَقَدْ نَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَصَلَّى النَّاسُ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ بِقَوْلِهِ يَقُولُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَكَذَا أُمِرْتُ
Translation
✧ O Mughirah, I knew—Jibril descended and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed, and the people prayed five times, by his word he would utter. Then he said: 'Thus have I been commanded.'
