عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فَأَخَّرَ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ مَرَّةً، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُرْوَةُ: حَدَّثَنِي بَشِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ أَخَّرَ الصَّلَاةَ مَرَّةً - يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ - فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ: أَمَا وَاللهِ يَا مُغِيرَةُ نص إضافيلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَصَلَّى النَّاسُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ، فَصَلَّى، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى عَدَّ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ. فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: انْظُرْ مَا تَقُولُ يَا عُرْوَةُ، أَوَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ سَنَّ وَقْتَ الصَّلَاةِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُرْوَةُ: كَذَلِكَ حَدَّثَنِي بَشِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ: فَمَا زَالَ يَعْلَمُ وَقْتَ الصَّلَاةِ بِعَلَامَةٍ حَتَّى غَابَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا
Translation
✧ We were with Umar b. Abd al-Aziz, and he delayed Asr once. Urwah said to him: Bashir b. Abi Mas'ud al-Ansari told me that al-Mughirah delayed the prayer once — meaning Asr — and Abu Mas'ud said to him: By Allah, O Mughirah, I know that Gabriel descended and prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed, and the people prayed with him. Then he descended and prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed, until he counted five prayers. Umar said to him: Consider what you say, O Urwah. Did Gabriel institute the prayer times? Urwah said to him: This is what Bashir b. Abi Mas'ud told me. He said: He continued to know the prayer times by a sign until he departed from this world.
