Translation
✧ I was with Ibn al-Musayyib when a man came to him and asked him about some matter. The muezzin called, and the man intended to leave. Sa'id said to him, 'The prayer has been called.' The man said, 'My companions have gone on, and this is my mount at the door.' Sa'id said to him, 'Do not leave, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one leaves the mosque after the call to prayer except a hypocrite, unless a man leaves for his need and intends to return to the prayer."' The man refused to do anything but leave. Sa'id said, 'Take note of that man.' One day someone came to him and said, 'O Abu Muhammad, did you not see this man who refused to do anything but leave? He fell from his mount and broke his leg.' Sa'id said, 'I thought something would befall him.'
