Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq 1902

✧ The adhan at the break of dawn

1902 قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ. مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ مَعْمَرٍ. متن مخفيأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ الصَّوْمَ فَلَا يَمْنَعُهُ أَذَانُ بِلَالٍ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Translation

✧ Abu Bakr said: And someone who heard Muhammad b. Ishaq narrating from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyib, informed me the like of Ma'mar's hadith. Hidden text: The Prophet ﷺ said: Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so whoever intends to fast should not be deterred by Bilal's call until he hears the call of Ibn Umm Maktum.
