عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَدِمَ مَكَّةَ فَأَذَّنَ أَبُو مَحْذُورَةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: مَا خَشِيتَ أَنْ يَنْخَرِقَ ؟ قَالَ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَدِمْتَ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُسْمِعَكَ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ أَرْضَكُمْ مَعْشَرَ أَهْلِ تِهَامَةَ أَرْضٌ حَارَّةٌ فَأَبْرِدْ، ثُمَّ أَبْرِدْ - يَعْنِي صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ - ثُمَّ أَذِّنْ، ثُمَّ ثَوِّبْ آتِكَ [١]
Translation
✧ That Umar came to Makkah and Abu Mahdhura gave the call to prayer. Umar said to him: Were you not afraid that your voice would tear? He said: O Commander of the Faithful, you have arrived and I wished to make you hear it. Umar said: Your land, O people of Tihama, is a hot land, so delay, then delay — meaning the noon prayer — then give the call, then give the iqama, I come to you [1].
