Translation
✧ I saw Ibn Umar hastening between al-Safa and al-Marwa, and with him were some people. A man with a long beard came to him and said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, I love you for the sake of Allah. Ibn Umar said: But I hate you for the sake of Allah. It was as if Ibn Umar's companions reproached him and spoke to him. He said: He seeks excessive payment in his call to prayer and takes a wage for it.
