✧ The beginning of the call to prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ،

أَنَّ سَعْدًا، أَذَّنَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِقِبَاءٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَحْسَنْتَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِذَا جِئْتَ فَأَذِّنْ فَكَانَ سَعْدٌ يُؤَذِّنُ بِقِبَاءٍ وَلَا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَالٌ

Translation

✧ That Sa'd called the adhan for the Prophet ﷺ at Quba', and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: "You have done well, my son. When you come, then call the adhan." So Sa'd used to call the adhan at Quba', and Bilal did not call the adhan.
