✧ Ablution in a Copper Vessel

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ فِي النُّحَاسِ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ فِي سَطْلٍ مِنْ نُحَاسٍ لِزَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ. فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ حِينَئِذٍ عِنْدَنَا مِنْ آلِ جَحْشٍ: نَعَمْ ذَلِكَ الْمِخْضَبُ عِنْدَنَا

Translation

✧ I asked Abd Allah b. Umar about ablution in copper. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wash his head in a copper pail belonging to Zaynab bt. Jaḥsh. A man from the family of Jaḥsh who was present with us said: Yes, that was indeed a washing tub that belonged to us.
