✧ Entering the mosque with a weapon

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

قَالَ إِنْسَانٌ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَكَانَ يُنْهَى عَنْ سَلِّ السَّيْفِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَكَانَ يُنْهَى أَنْ يُمَرَّ بِالنَّبْلِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا مُمْسَكًا عَلَى نِصَالِهَا

Translation

✧ A man said to ʿAṭāʾ: Was it forbidden to draw a sword in the mosque? He said: Yes, and it was forbidden to pass arrows through the mosque unless their tips were held.
